Submission are being invited for Oral Presentations and Workshops, due 2 March 2025 and Lightning Talks, due 12 March for the 23rd NSW Weeds Conference.
Conference sub-themes include:
- Turning the tide on coastal weeds
- Country and Western Weeds
- All about aquatics
- Cacti: controlling the weeds and the collectors
- Weed surveillance, new and emerging weeds, recording and mapping
- Identifying weeds: tools and techniques
- Control: innovation and research
- Protecting cultural heritage
- Helping native species by managing weeds
- Building capacity and engaging stakeholders
- Funding planning and legislation
Please ensure you read the abstract guidelines prior to making your submissions.
Notes for Oral and Workshop submissions:
- The body of the abstract must be a maximum of 310 words, including key words.
- Key words are words that are not used in the title or body of your abstract but would be useful in a search.
- If using common name for plants please include the scientific name in brackets after its first mention, otherwise use scientific name throughout.
- Note that the portal does not accommodate italics, the text for scientific names will be changed to italics in the published proceedings.
- Select a theme that best suite your presentation. New themes may be used in the program if appropriate for the presentation topics.

- These are to be 15 minutes long, each with a 20 minute allocation that includes an introduction and questions.
- Abstract submission required via portal on website (see notes below for abstract submissions).
- Due date: 2 March 2025
Workshops
- Length may vary with topic and outcomes.
- Abstract submission required via portal on website. (see notes below for abstract submissions).
- Include the following information in the body of the abstract:
- a brief overview of the workshop topic and aims.
- target audience (if relevant)
- preferred length of time for the workshop
- preferred maximum number of people to participate in the workshop (if relevant)
- any specific requirements for the room layout or resources.

Lightning talks
- These talks are to be 8 minutes maximum with a 10 minute time slot for each (no questions between speakers but maybe at the end of the session, time permitting).
- The talks may be on any weed related topic.
